Maine

Our July 23 Write Across America stop was in Maine where we drew inspiration from sunrises and beaches, history and poetry, and beer and blueberries. I wrote about the echoes of history and its implications for today, the great-grandfather I never knew, and being well-rounded then later about the perils of unintended consequences (and not even pausing a moment to think about them). The writers who shared their responses with me drew many other exciting ideas from memories of favorite places to beloved foods to delicious memories. Where will these Maine writing invitations take you?

The final Write Across America stop of the summer will be in Kansas on July 30! If you want to join the Write Across America community sign up here. Visit our map to check out all the stops on our five year (and counting) tour of America. The Rebel Cartographers are also writing in response to each of the summer stops on Thursday evenings.

Write Across America will take August off and then head to Iowa on Sept. 10!
