Pooh and U2

Milestones always provide great inspiration and this week I learned about two big artistic milestones: Winnie-the-Pooh celebrates his 100th birthday and U2 celebrated its 50th anniversary. Pooh was one of the treasures of my childhood that I happily shared with my son. To this day Pooh and his gang can make me smile and simply bring joy to my day. I lost a lot of time on YouTube seeking out cartoons and thinking about my childhood cat named Tigger although Eeyore was always my favorite. Then there is U2. Sunday Bloody Sunday is still a powerful anthem and Where the Streets Have No Name gets to me every time. Smooth Radio shares this list of U2’s 20 greatest songs and while I’m not certain on some of their choices I am 110% on 1 (With or Without You), 2(I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For), and 3 (In the Name of Love)! However, I love how excited and engaged they are in the creative process even after five decades and that is highlighted in this conversation on The Interview. I think they ask and discuss a lot of questions worthy of exploration and consideration.

This week find your inspiration in Winnie-the-Pooh – the art, the lessons, the self-deprecating humor and the love of music and humanity that U2 continues to explore! Perhaps these seem like an unlikely pairing but I want to live in the world these artists imagine. And if none of that inspires you then simply consider the important milestones of your own life and the mark you want to leave on your world.
