Hawaii

What are the purpose of legends? What are their impact on your life? Those are some of the ideas I explored during the first stop of the National Writing Project’s 2023 Write Across America in Hawaii. This magical visit is still inspiring me to write (you can sign up here for 2023). After offering a visual feast and orienting us in their space, the organizers for this marathon stop offered these writing inspirations:

  • Mo’olelo: Oral or Written Stories, Narratives, Legends, and Histories
  • Aine: Land, Earth
  • Sounds of Hawaii & Manoa Valley

We all need more writing marathons in our lives! Read some of the writing generated by the Hawaii marathon stop.
