Write Across America kicked off 2025 with a writing marathon stop in Oregon. Every writing stop in 2024 added yet another new state to the Write Across America map and are hoping that 2025 will allow us to visit all 50 states. Our Oregon hosts (the Oregon Writing Project Collaborative of George Fox University) took us to Astoria, Silver Falls, Fort Rock, Portland, and Celilo Falls. In the best tradition of writing marathons they also invited us to consider weighty issues such as progress, community, shipwrecks, and thin places. I know this is an invitation to write that I can revisit again and again.
