2024 LexPoMo
LexPoMo is wrapped for 2024 and I am proud that I managed to post 16 poems drawn from my many writing journal pages filled by poetry writing with my students and the National Writing Project’s Write Across America (register here) which allowed me to come into the challenge with some poem drafts and ideas in my pocket. I am particularly pleased with the number of poems that I wrote during the month of June itself – especially considering how busy life and MoreheadWP kept me during the month.
In addition to posting 16 of 30 days, there were several days when I found the time to take a deep dive into the LexPoMo waterfall of poetry and locate poems that caught my interest and/or pulled at my heartstrings. While the challenge to post poems brought me to LexPoMo, it is the conversation around the poetry that brings me back year after year. Here are some of the stops I took along the way that continue to inspire me as a writer:
- June 30: language
- June 28: feasting
- June 26: tadpoles
- June 22: cats
- June 21: trophies
- June 20: memory
- June 19: love
- June 18: union
- June 17: congregation
- June 14: purchase
- June 13: flight
- June 12: poison control
- June 11: titles
- June 10: roots
