First Lines
The Morehead Writing Project Retreat Coordinator Karen VanKirk shared this delightful and fruitful prompt from the pen of Wendell Berry. She shared this collection of first lines from most of his collected poetry. There are multiple entry points available to you. Pick your favorite poem, the line that speaks to you at this moment in time, an image that inspires you, a line that begins with the same letter as our first name, and so on. I, in fact, found a poem on this page.
