Today my poem for LexPoMo was inspired by a poem (The Weavers Were the First to Know) that I loved sharing with my students. It is a beautifully layered poem that never fails to work on me. While Tender does not match the power of its inspiration I am proud of its layers.
Today’s gleanings seem to intersect and parallel my own poem in interesting ways:
- My Scribe
- One Nice Thing About Not Being in Love
- Father’s Father’s Father’s Father’s Father
- Parallel Parking
- The Mountain Remembers
I personally think some of the best poems are about the lessons I’m struggling to learn, have learned, or learned from others. What life lessons can you write about today?
