Lighthouses always fascinate me even though all my people are of the land, but I am not alone with this love of the light and those who tend it so: Do We Still Need Lighthouses? My poem answers that question and the featured lighthouse above is one I have visited many time. I know many think of the sea when it comes to lighthouses but as a person who grew up in the great lakes region I know the importance of these lighthouses to guide ships home even today.
