Write Where We Stand

“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.”

—RAINER MARIA RILKE

April is both National Poetry Month and host to Earth Day. Both offer rich inspiration for writing and hopefully the opportunity to enjoy at least one day of writing in and about spring. Write Out is hosting a Write Where We Stand Challenge launching on Earth Day (April 22) and running through April 25:

The National Writing Project also offers some rich inspiration as part of a lesson build around Oscar Howe:

Take some time from April 22-25 to write about where you stand, to write to or about Spring, or simply to write out key memories about the places that have made you. I know for me some of those are places I have never been and I aim to add more places to my list while Reading the USA.
