Truth

This morning I sat down to write a poem for Lexington Poetry Month, and I did, but not the poem I intended to write and that feels like truth as well as joy. I did carve my poem out of an old journal entry inspired by the Morehead Writing Project’s 2023 Small Poems, Great Writers invitations. I also scrolled through the day’s poems (as I try to do every day but sometimes fail, more truth) to find five that bring me joy and promise inspiration for future writing. Here are today’s gleanings:
- Mapping
- seeds
- Unnamed erasure of Jennifer Ackerman’s The Genius of Birds, p 43
- Mountain Lion Tanka
- Day Riders
What truth do you need to write today?
